PENTHESILEA is a curatorial consultancy with a unique knowledge in ancient and historically significant objects. We deal with all aspects of private collections and work closely with a select group of clients to help them create, grow, and catalogue new and existing collections. We specialize in coins, medals and other numismatic items, but are willing to look at a variety of other objects and art work.

We have extensive experience in valuation and appraisals and undertake work for insurances, estates, and collectors.

WHO WE ARE

Dr. Ute Wartenberg Kagan

Dr. Wartenberg is a renowned specialist in ancient numismatics who has published extensively in this field. For three decades, she has worked first at the British Museum and since 1998 at the American Numismatic Society. She assists discerning collectors in their attempts to build and catalogue important collections with an emphasis on provenance and quality. Her interests go beyond the field of coinage and include antiquarian books, paintings, prints, and many other artforms.

Aadya Bedi

Ms. Bedi has over two decades of museum administrative experience in NYC. She has researched and catalogued several collections and maintained private and institutional websites. She is currently a researcher for the Amastris Collection and the American Numismatic Society.
